I need help with this too. My stash is everywhere!
i've cupboards to stash my fabrics in ... sorted by color. folded so that you can see if that piece is a half-yard, yard, or more. fq's and near fq's are on an open shelf - so i can see them; i use them mostly for applique. bigger floral pieces and other prints are now stacked in extra containers as my stash has overfowed my cupboards.
Cute fabric! I have shelves that I keep my fabric folded on, and then just today I bought a huge basket to keep my scraps in. I am not that organized:)
I don't have a stash per se but my mother has scraps does and I organized for her. We have flat clear plastic bins with lids. Her fabrics are sorted by color and each bin is labeled. We stack these in the large linen closet in the hall. The whole closet is for quilting fabric and "stuff." I'm diligent about putting leftovers back into the proper bin once my mother finishes a project. Thanks for the giveaway each week.
I have my stash organized by color in a glass fronted barrister's bookcase. Oh, and all the holiday fabrics are separated out.
I try to organize by color. However when your are starting a quilt and pull fabric, it gets all messed up again. Christmas, halloween, Easter, etc. are in one place.

I wrap my fabric around my ruler so the fabrics are all about the same size then have them on my shelves by color. I lost my ruler though, and my stash is getting sloppy. I probably forgot to pull the ruler out and will find it when I use that fabric. :)
I mainly have 3 bookshelves that go from ceiling to floor. I place all my blender/solids on the top shelves by color and then by colorway on the rest of the shelves. I like keeping my blenders separate so I can pull the color I am looking for easier and then go thru the pattern fabric...thanks for asking
I sort by style. All civil war, 30s, brights and holidays in separate bins. I love the give away
I sort by type and color. My colors are together until I need something, then oops! Love the map fabric, hope I see in my LQS.

I have it sorted by colors and on open shelving....and what I have auditioned sometimes covers the floor! Great fabric giveaway!
I have a MAJOR problem with my stash, particularly scraps. Every time I read an article about organizing your stash/scraps I think, "That's what I should do." I tear apart my stash and start taming it to fit with the new system. Unfortunately, before I can get it all tidy and put away with the new system, I read a new article that sounds even better and start over again. Of course, it never really gets done. I do have to quilt some time. I now have a huge mess with fabrics shelvedin my closet on mini bolts, under the bed and in another closet in plastic boxes, in baskets, and hanging from skirt hangers in the closet. Help!!! Is there no help for this fabric crazed woman who wants more, but doesn't know what to do with what she has?
I took over a walk-in closet, and arranged fabic by fabric collection or "potential for a project." I need to add a drawers bin for scraps by color.
Thanks for the giveaway chances!

I organize by type and color. Fabric is folded and stacked on shelves.
My stash is seperated into colors and kept in tubs and in cupboards. I still have a need to be more organized because I don't know what to do with the scraps and small pieces.
Hmm my stash seems to be organized by trolls. Love the fabrics!
I bought a system with bins from Ikea quite awhile ago. So all I have to do now is get organized.
Thanks for a chance.

Stash!?!? What stash!?!? ROFL okay I have a very very small stash, it fits into a small bookcase, but I am working on it! Thanks for the chance to win this. sunnybecwildfern(at)gmail(dot)com
I keep my fabrics mostly on shelves, but some are kept in clear drawers in the closet. Thanks for the giveaway.

I have my yardage folded on shelves...not by color yet, but it will be. At least it is all in one place! I have my fqs in a small glass front cabinet and scraps in a bin beneath the desk. Need to work on those however...got a GO to deal with them. :)

Wow, thanks for sharing that link to the amazing stash organization! Impressive. I could use a fairy godmother to come wave a magic wand and organize my fabrics for me! Right now they are in plastic tubs, separated primarily by color. Maybe over time I will graduate to a more sophisticated level of organization, but for now this works for me.
Thanks for the giveaway! Love this collection of fabrics. So fun!
Mostly I organize by colour, but 30s, 1800s and batiks are seperate as are novelties (wheich are organized by type--food, bugs, trains, etc) and then there's the home-made 'kits' where I put some fabrics together in project bags--with or without patterns (don't always know just what I'm going to do with it!). course, I have enough fabric for about 3 life-times.......
I keep my ruler folded yardage stash on closet shelves by colors, holiday stash and finally batiks by color. The precuts I do are stored in clear shoe boxes by color and size- ie blue/green 2.5" strips or 3.5" X 6.5" bricks. The homemade kits/cut projects go into clear box based on project and labeled as such with pattern with fabric. Fat Quarters are kept in two clear 17L Really Useful Boxes and hold lots. Thanks for letting us share and for the giveaway. ddchip37@gmail.com
With the exception of fabric set aside for specific projects, I organize by era (Civil War, 30's) or style (modern, Thimbleberries, batik) and then by color within those categories.
Thanks for the giveaway. I think these fabrics would be great for quilts for our local children's hospital.

What a cute line! My stash is in totes
I have a shelving unit with doors so that when it is complete chaos, I can avoid looking at the mess. When straight, fabrics are organized by color and kind of fabric (cotton, wool, silk, gauze).
I have lots of built in shelves for my massive resource center. I have an old covergirl turnstyle from a store (dumpter diving pays off)for my fat quarters sorted by color. and all my scraps are cut down and stored in drawer stacks by size.
I have big totes in the garage sorted by colors and piles sorted by color on shelving in my spare room. The piles inside are toppling over and I never check in the garage for what I need. I really need a larger space to organize properly. Love reading everyone's ideas. Us quilter's always have piles of fabric it seems. Thanks for the chance to win.
I sort by colors in separate bins; thanks for chance to win. Rhonda (address marshudson at comcast dot net)
