I like her idea of using fusible web. I used thin batting.
I'll try that next. They make great hostess gifts.
I may even make a wine bag to go with them.

The link you posted didn't work for me so I am not sure if this is the same pattern hat I have used for years with just a different name. If you fold the original squares on the bias instead of crosswise and layer the same way the finished coaster looks like an x block instead of a 4 patch.
